I have been going back and forth on how we do Remote Finals- There is no perfect way to accomplish this and we always have issues that we come up with. We have remote so we have to treat them as if they are remote.
Here is the Final Schedule
Thursday October 29th
All A-K students in-person will take ALL 4 finals
All Remote kids will take finals today
NO ZOOM for L-Z kids
All Remote kids would take finals on Thursday during their class period. They would be required to be logged onto Zoom, cameras on. They would be taking the final at same time as kids in class.
*IF they wanted to take in-person I also believe we should give them that opportunity. They would have to let the teacher know by Wednesday the 21st at 3pm if they want to be in person to take finals.
Friday, October 30th
All L-Z kids will take finals in-person
NO ZOOM for A-K kids or Remote kids
Final Make-ups and other things
*We cannot require remote students to come in the building and take finals- this was also reiterated by the district. If they would like to come in they can communicate that prior.
*Hybrid kids- If they are sick on finals day- they will take their final the following week(we will have to figure out a schedule) or Friday in person.
*If they are quarantined they automatically become a remote student.
This allows Wednesday to stay the same, all kids can get extra help prior to their finals on Thurs/Fri.
There would be NO Zoom on Thurs/Fri for Off-site kids.
I realize that there are concerns for cheating- We will have to do our best to help alleviate this. It is not a perfect system. Thank you for all your hard work!
Please let me know if you have any questions.

Final Exam
Per school district policy, Street Law will complete a required final semester exam on the date set by the high school administration. For seniors completing graduation requirements prior to other students, the exam will be administered about 7-10 days before the end of the graduating semester.
The final exam format for Street Law is not yet determined due to the short semester and covid issues

Alternative Final Project
Students may elect to enter in the VFW Voice of Democracy contest in place of a final exam. This entry must be submitted to Mr. Johnson no later than the date of the scheduled final.
Entries will receive 50/50 points if properly submitted on time. They may be turned in early. We will discuss the project in class, but no time will be given in class to work on it. Remember with a short 8 week course, time is an issue. |
